Lotte Anker is a renowned Danish saxophonist and composer who has carved out a unique space in the realms of experimental jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music. Born in Copenhagen in 1958, Anker's musical journey began with classical piano studies, but her path took a pivotal turn in 1980 when she embraced the saxophone and the world of improvised music, drawing inspiration from legends like John Coltrane and Wayne Shorter, as well as the vibrant experimental jazz scene in Scandinavia.
