The Summer Hits Band

Emerging from the vibrant indie rock scene of early '90s Los Angeles, The Summer Hits crafted a unique blend of twee, shoegaze, and ramshackle pop that lingers in the memory long after the last note fades. Formed in Sierra Madre, California, the band consisted of Darren Rademaker (guitar, organ, vocals), Josh Schwartz (drums), and Rex Thompson (vocals, bass), also known as Tartarex. Drawing inspiration from 60s psych rock and late 80s bands like Loop and Spacemen 3, The Summer Hits created sun-drenched, lo-fi sounds that captivate and charm. Their music, originally released in 1993, is a testament to their innovative spirit and enduring appeal.
