Susanne Mentzer

Susanne Mentzer is a renowned American operatic mezzo-soprano celebrated for her captivating stage presence and agile lyric voice. Born on January 21, 1957, she has made a significant mark in the opera world, particularly known for her compelling performances in trouser roles such as Cherubino in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro," Idamante in "Idomeneo," Octavian in Strauss' "Der Rosenkavalier," and the composer in "Ariadne auf Naxos." Her repertoire extends to the works of Rossini, Berlioz, and Mahler, showcasing her versatility and vocal prowess.
