Simon Johnson

Simon Johnson is a renowned British-American economist, born in 1963 in Sheffield, United Kingdom. Currently, he serves as the Ronald A. Kurtz Professor of Entrepreneurship at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he also heads the Global Economics and Management area. Johnson is a distinguished figure in his field, having previously held the position of Economic Counsellor and Director of the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2007 to 2008. In 2024, he achieved a remarkable milestone by co-winning the Nobel Prize in Economics with Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson.
