Roger Desormiere

Roger Désormière, born in Vichy, France, in 1898, was a pioneering French conductor whose career spanned the first half of the 20th century. A graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, Désormière began his musical journey as a flautist in various Parisian orchestras before transitioning to conducting. He made his debut with the Concerts Pleyel in 1921 and quickly established himself as a champion of contemporary composers.
