Rihards Dubra

Rihards Dubra is a renowned Latvian composer, born in Riga in 1964, who has made a significant mark in the world of sacred music. With a deep spiritual foundation, Dubra's compositions often reflect his religious influences, creating profound and moving works. His notable pieces include a stirring Te Deum and an innovative Alma Redemptoris Mater for soprano saxophone, choir, and organ. Dubra's journey in music began with studies at the Emīls Dārzinš Music College and the Latvian Music Academy under the guidance of Juris Karlsons. Beyond his composing, Dubra is also a dedicated educator, teaching at the Jurmala School of Music. His music, characterized by its spiritual depth and emotional resonance, has earned him a place among the premier composers of sacred music in Latvia.
