Rex Richardson

Rex Richardson is a versatile artist who seamlessly blends the worlds of politics and music. As the current mayor of Long Beach, California, he brings a unique perspective to his role, having served as a city councilmember and being a graduate of prestigious leadership programs like the Harvard City Leadership Initiative and the Yale Mayors College. Beyond his political career, Rex is a renowned trumpet soloist and professor of trumpet and jazz at Virginia Commonwealth University. A Yamaha Performing Artist, he has performed with acclaimed ensembles like Rhythm & Brass and the Chicago Jazz Ensemble.
