Pt. Snehasish Mozumder

Pt. Snehasish Mozumder is a virtuoso of the mandolin, renowned for his mastery in blending the instrument with the rich traditions of Hindustani classical music. Hailing from a musically inclined family, he began his musical journey at the tender age of four, initially training in tabla before transitioning to the mandolin under the tutelage of his grandfather, the late Sri Bibhuty Ranjan Mozumder. His innovative approach has earned him accolades such as the Surmani and Jadubhatta Awards, and he has even been invited by the legendary Pt. Ravi Shankar to perform at the Concert for George at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Beyond his classical roots, Snehasish has explored fusion music, forming his own band, Snehasish Mozumder & SOM, and even inventing the double neck mandolin. His work spans a diverse range of genres, from traditional ragas to jazz, making him a unique and captivating artist in the world of Indian classical music.
