Poul Borum

Poul Borum, born Poul Villiam Borum on October 15, 1934, in Copenhagen, Denmark, was a prolific and influential figure in Danish literature. A poet, writer, critic, and cultural debater, Borum was best known for his sharp critiques and significant contributions to modern Danish poetry. He served as the editor of the esteemed literary magazine "Hvedekorn" from 1968 until his death in 1996 and co-founded the Danish Writers School (Forfatterskolen) in 1987, where he also served as principal. Borum's personal life was marked by his 17-year marriage to renowned Danish poet Inger Christensen. His work spanned various genres, including poetry, prose, and criticism, and he was also known for his involvement in the arts and literature scene. Poul Borum passed away on May 10, 1996, leaving behind a rich literary legacy that continues to inspire and engage readers.
