Pablo Milanés, the legendary Cuban musician, was a pioneering figure in the nueva trova movement, known for his deeply personal and evocative compositions. Born on 24 February 1943 in Bayamo, Cuba, Milanés' music spanned genres like trova, bolero, and Latin folk, earning him international acclaim and a Grammy award. Alongside Silvio Rodríguez and Noel Nicola, he laid the foundation for Cuban nueva trova, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that continues to inspire. Milanés passed away in Madrid on 22 November 2022, at the age of 79, but his timeless songs remain a testament to his enduring artistry.
