Marco Ricci

Marco Ricci, born in 1676 in Belluno, was a prolific Italian Baroque painter, engraver, and stage designer whose works continue to captivate art enthusiasts. Specializing in landscape painting, Ricci was renowned for his gouaches on leather and his intricate etchings. As the nephew and pupil of the celebrated painter Sebastiano Ricci, Marco often collaborated with him, creating a unique blend of styles that defined their joint works. His landscapes, such as "Landscape with River and Figures" housed in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Venice, showcase his mastery of light, color, and composition. Ricci's artistic journey took him beyond Italy, including a stint in England, before he returned to Venice, where he spent the remainder of his life until his death in 1730. His legacy endures, inspiring generations of artists and art lovers alike.
