Luis de Freitas Branco

Luís de Freitas Branco (1890-1955) was a pioneering Portuguese composer, musicologist, and professor who introduced modernism to Portuguese music. Born and raised in Lisbon, he became a preeminent figure in the country's musical landscape during the first half of the 20th century.
