Luigi Rossi, an esteemed Italian Baroque composer, hails from the quaint town of Torremaggiore near Foggia, in the historic kingdom of Naples. His musical journey began at a young age when he ventured to Naples to study under the renowned Franco-Flemish composer Jean de Macque. Macque, known for his prowess as an organist at the Santa Casa dell’Annunziata and maestro di cappella to the Spanish viceroy, undoubtedly left a profound impact on Rossi's early musical development. Following his studies, Rossi went on to serve the influential Caetani family, dukes of Traetta, further enriching his artistic legacy.
