Louise Talma

Louise Talma (1906-1996) was a pioneering American composer, pianist, and academic, renowned for her distinctive neo-Classical style. Born in France but deeply rooted in the United States, Talma's music evolved from neo-Classical to radical serial styles, reflecting the spirit of her times. She composed over 40 major works, including vocal pieces, song cycles, and notably, the first American opera.
