With a career spanning over five decades, Stabbins has been a key figure in the world of free jazz and avant-garde music, known for his innovative approach and virtuosic playing. Starting his musical journey at a young age, he began with the clarinet, then moved to the soprano saxophone, and finally settled on the tenor sax, which has become his primary instrument. Stabbins is also known for his work under the alias Stonephace and runs the independent label Noetic.
