Kaushiki Chakraborty

Kaushiki Chakraborty is a celebrated Indian classical vocalist, hailing from the prestigious Patiala gharana. Born on 24 October 1980 in Calcutta, West Bengal, she is the daughter of the iconic musician Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. Kaushiki's repertoire is vast, encompassing pure classical forms like Khyals, as well as devotional Bhajans, soulful Thumris, and more. Her astonishing khayal vocal technique is a testament to her years of intense training, much of which she spent at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy. Kaushiki has garnered global acclaim, including the 2005 BBC Radio 3 World Music Award (Asia-Pacific) and India’s Nari Shakti Puraskar. Beyond her performances, she is also an educator, creator, producer, and entrepreneur, continually blending tradition with innovation. Her work extends to albums and even a web series, making her a dynamic force in the world of Indian classical music.
