Karel Šejna

Karel Šejna (1896-1982) was a distinguished Czech conductor and double bassist, renowned for his significant contributions to the world of classical music. Beginning his career as a double bassist, Šejna transitioned to conducting, eventually becoming the principal conductor of the esteemed Czech Philharmonic. His recordings, though few, are highly regarded by serious collectors and enthusiasts. Šejna's repertoire spanned Romanticism, Symphony, and Orchestral Music, with notable works including Slavonic Dance in A Flat Major, Op. 72 n° 8.
