Jesper Lundgaard is a celebrated Danish jazz bassist, bandleader, composer, and record producer, born on June 12, 1954, in Hillerød, Denmark. With a career spanning over four decades, he has established himself as one of the most prominent figures in Danish jazz. Initially starting with the guitar, Lundgaard switched to the double bass at the age of 16, and his warm, understated style and deft approach to modern jazz and standards have made him a highly regarded musician.
