Jean Louis Nicodé

Jean Louis Nicodé (1853-1919) was a distinguished Prussian musician, renowned for his multifaceted talents as a pianist, composer, and conductor. Born in Jersitz, near Posen, Nicodé's musical journey began under the tutelage of his father, an amateur violinist and music teacher. His formal education commenced at the New Academy of Music in Berlin, where he honed his skills in piano under Theodor Kullak and harmony under Wüerst. Nicodé's career flourished as he secured a position at the Royal Conservatory in Dresden in 1878, later returning to Berlin and eventually becoming the conductor of the Philharmonic Concerts in Dresden.

Throughout his illustrious career, Nicodé was celebrated for his compositions, which include symphonic poems and solo keyboard works.
