Hugh Wolff & Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra

Hugh Wolff, a gifted conductor, served as the Principal Conductor and later Music Director of the esteemed Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra from 1988 to 2000. During his tenure, he recorded over twenty discs with the orchestra and commissioned 26 new works, showcasing his commitment to both classical repertoire and contemporary compositions. Wolff's leadership also led to the launch of the adult education series "Musical U," demonstrating his dedication to engaging audiences beyond the concert hall. With the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Wolff explored a rich array of chamber orchestra literature, from Bartók's Háry János Suite to Aaron Jay Kernis's Double Concerto for Violin & Guitar. His work with the orchestra, which consists of 33 musicians, has left a lasting impact on the classical music scene.
