Gurnam Singh Man

Dr. Gurnam Singh is a multifaceted artist, scholar, and activist whose work transcends boundaries. As a renowned Sikh kirtankar, musicologist, and scholar, he is celebrated for his dedication to preserving and promoting Sikh musicology. Born into a family of esteemed kirtankars, Dr. Gurnam Singh has made history as the first person to sing all 62 Raagas from Sri Guru Granth Sahib in their original form, making him a torchbearer of Gurmat Sangeet. Beyond his musical achievements, he is an activist researcher, writer, educator, and broadcast journalist, known for his lifelong commitment to fighting against systems of power and oppression. His contributions span various fields, including politics, where he served as the 6th Chief Minister of Punjab, and academia, where he is an associate professor of Sociology at the University of Warwick.
