Dennis Kam

Dennis Kam (1942-2018) was a celebrated composer and educator, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and later residing in Miami. A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the Salzburg Mozarteum, Kam made significant contributions to the music world as a professor at the University of Miami's Frost School. His works, such as "Piano Epic" and "Sonata for Cello and Piano," showcase his unique tropical influences and innovative compositions. Beyond academia, Kam was an active composer and conductor, receiving grants and commissions, and leaving a lasting impact on his musical community.
