As a pianist, bandleader, composer, and arranger, Valdés has left an indelible mark on Latin jazz, son cubano, and nueva trova. The son of the legendary Bebo Valdés, Chucho has carved out his own legendary status, winning an impressive seven GRAMMY and seven Latin GRAMMY Awards, and being honored as a NEA Jazz Master in 2025.
