Chamber Orchestra of Europe

The Chamber Orchestra of Europe (COE), founded in 1981, is a dynamic ensemble based in London, celebrated for its technical brilliance and musical sensitivity. Comprising about 60 members from across Europe, the COE is not just an orchestra but a collective of international soloists, chamber musicians, and esteemed educators. With substantial support from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation and the Underwood Trust, the COE has no single home venue or resident conductor, allowing it to maintain a flexible and innovative approach to performance. The orchestra is renowned for its recording and performance cycles, including a highly anticipated 2024 recording of Brahms's complete symphonies. The COE's members, who initially came together through the European Community Youth Orchestra, continue to push the boundaries of classical and opera music, making them a standout ensemble in the world of chamber music.
