Brigitte Engerer

Brigitte Engerer (1952-2012) was a French pianist renowned for her immense sound, prodigious technique, and probing musicality. Born in Tunis to parents of Maltese descent, Engerer began her piano journey at the tender age of three and gave her first public concert at six. Her formal training took her to Paris and Moscow, where she studied under Lucette Descaves and Stanislas Neuhaus, respectively. Engerer's career was marked by her brilliant and original style, with a repertoire that spanned from Bach to Gershwin, and a particular affinity for romantic and French compositions. She collaborated with top orchestras and musicians, notably Boris Berezovsky in duo-piano performances.
