Bonifazio Graziani

Bonifazio Graziani, an enigmatic figure of the early Roman Baroque period, was a gifted Italian organist, composer, and clergyman. Born in Marino, near Rome, around 1604/05, Graziani's musical prowess led him to serve as the maestro di cappella at the prestigious Church of the Gesù in Rome from 1646 until his death in 1664. Known for his sacred vocal works, Graziani's compositions, such as "Venites pastores" and "Vespro della Beata Vergine," showcase his mastery of the Baroque style. Despite his significant contributions, Graziani remains one of the 'best kept secrets' of his time, offering modern audiences a chance to discover the rich musical heritage of the Roman Baroque.
