Bion Tsang

Bion Yu-Ting Tsang, born in Michigan to Chinese parents, is an acclaimed American cellist and professor, celebrated as one of the most outstanding instrumentalists of his generation. Beginning his musical journey at the tender age of six with piano and seven with cello, Tsang's prodigious talent led him to The Juilliard School just a year later. With a career marked by numerous accolades, including a Grammy nomination in 2010 and an Avery Fisher Career Grant, Tsang has captivated audiences worldwide with his virtuosity. Currently, he serves as the head of strings at the UT-Austin Butler School of Music, continuing to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians. His recordings, such as the live concert album with Anton Nel, showcase his profound musicality and versatility, making him a standout figure in the choral and classical music scene.
