Bhai Deep Singh Ji
Bhai Deep Singh Ji, born on January 26, 1682, in the village of Pahuwind, Amritsar, is a revered figure in Sikh history, known for his unwavering courage and deep spiritual devotion. From a young age, Bhai Deep Singh Ji exhibited a profound interest in Sikhism, dedicating himself to the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib. At the age of 18, he met Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, an encounter that significantly shaped his life and spiritual journey.
Bhai Deep Singh Ji's bravery and commitment to his faith are legendary. He was the first head of the Damdami Taksal, a prestigious religious school founded by Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and played a crucial role in preserving and distributing copies of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. His dedication to accuracy and integrity led him to question and correct a line in the Guru Granth Sahib, an act that earned him the title of "Shaheed" (martyr) while he was still alive.
