Andrzej Bauer

Andrzej Bauer is a distinguished Polish cellist, composer, and conductor, renowned for his profound musicality and versatility. Born in Łódź, Bauer's journey began under the tutelage of Kazimierz Michalik, followed by advanced studies with esteemed mentors such as André Navarra, Miloš Sadlo, Daniel Szafran, and William Pleeth. His international acclaim includes winning the first prize at the ARD International Competition in Munich and receiving the European Parliament and Council of Europe prize. Bauer has performed in prestigious venues across Europe, collaborating with symphony orchestras like the Munich Philharmonic. Beyond his solo and orchestral work, he is a dedicated educator, serving as a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. Bauer is also the founder and artistic director of the Warsaw Cellonet Group, continually exploring new musical territories through composition and improvisation. His discography showcases a rich repertoire, from Bach's Cello Suites to contemporary works, reflecting his deep engagement with both classical traditions and innovative musical expressions.
