Alexander Balanescu

Alexander Balanescu is a Romanian-born violinist and composer renowned for his visionary approach to music. Born in Bucharest in 1954, Balanescu began his musical journey at the age of seven, studying at the Special School for Music. His career took off when he joined the Arditti Quartet in 1983, and in 1987, he founded the Balanescu Quartet, an avant-garde string ensemble that has redefined the boundaries of classical music.
