Alessio Bax is an Italian classical pianist renowned for his exceptional lyricism, insight, and consummate technique. Born in Bari, Italy, on November 30, 1977, Bax graduated from the Bari Conservatory at the remarkable age of 14. His career skyrocketed after winning First Prize at both the Leeds and Hamamatsu International Piano Competitions. Bax's performances are celebrated for their depth and emotional resonance, making him one of the most remarkable pianists of his generation. In addition to his performing career, Bax serves as the Artistic Director of the La Foce Festival and the Achucarro Foundation, and is on the faculty at the New England Conservatory of Music.
