Hailing from Kobe, Japan, saxophonist Kei Ozone is a powerhouse in the jazz scene, particularly in the Kansai region. His musical journey began in high school, leading him to study at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he honed his skills under the guidance of Jimmy Mosher. After graduating in 1985, Ozone returned to Kobe and has since been a driving force in the local music scene, founding Ozone Music and teaching saxophone, flute, and clarinet.
Ozone's debut solo album, "Unison," produced by his brother Shin Ozone, was released in 2023, showcasing his impressive prowess on the saxophone. The album features collaborations with Shin Ozone and offers a blend of classic jazz tunes and original compositions, including tracks like "Gorgeous" and "Egg On The Roof." With his rich musical background and engaging performances, Kei Ozone continues to captivate audiences and contribute significantly to the jazz community.
