    The Verve, hailing from Wigan, England, emerged in the early 1990s as a formidable force in the rock scene. Fronted by the charismatic Richard Ashcroft, the band initially consisted of Nick McCabe on guitar, Simon Jones on bass, and Peter Salisbury on drums.
