Wolfert Brederode is a distinguished Dutch pianist and composer, born in 1974 in Wassenaar, who has carved out a unique space in the jazz world with his elegant, melodic compositions. Starting his musical journey at the age of seven with classical piano and violin, Brederode later discovered his passion for jazz and pop music. He studied at the Conservatorium of Den Haag and made his debut in 1997 with the album "Alternate Views." Known for his collaborations with other artists, particularly on ECM Records, Brederode's work often features intricate arrangements and a rich, evocative sound. His 2024 suite, commissioned to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, showcases his ability to blend piano, string quartet, and percussion into a profound musical narrative.
