About Hervé Sellin

Hervé Sellin is a French pianist, composer, and arranger who has made a significant impact on the jazz scene with his unique blend of classical and improvisational styles. Born in 1957 to a family of musicians, Sellin began his musical journey by exploring the trumpet and trombone before dedicating himself to the piano. He honed his skills at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, where he studied under the renowned Aldo Ciccolini and earned a double prize in piano. Sellin's career is marked by collaborations with legendary artists such as Johnny Griffin, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Richard Galliano, with whom he toured extensively as part of the "Piazzolla Forever" project. His discography includes notable albums like "Jazz Impressions," where he reimagines the works of French composers like Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Ravel through a jazz lens.
