Opus Eponymous

Emerging from the shadows of Linköping, Sweden, Ghost unleashed their debut studio album, "Opus Eponymous," on October 18, 2010. This nine-track masterpiece, released under the independent label Rise Above Records, introduced the world to the enigmatic and captivating sound of Ghost. The album, which translates to "self-titled work" in Latin, is a daring blend of heavy metal and hard rock, wrapped in an aura of occult mystique.

"Opus Eponymous" kicks off with the instrumental "Deus Culpa," setting the stage for a journey through the band's unique sonic landscape. The album features a mix of heavy riffs, haunting melodies, and theatrical vocals, all delivered with a sense of drama and flair. Tracks like "Ritual" and "Satan Prayer" showcase Ghost's penchant for dark, atmospheric metal, while "Elizabeth" and "Stand By Him" offer a glimpse into their pop sensibility, reminiscent of bands like ABBA.

The album was recorded in Ghost's hometown and produced by Gene Walker, with additional recordings done at White Light Studio.
