His musical journey began at the age of seven under the tutelage of Erna Grünfeld, and by fifteen, he was enrolled at the Prague Conservatoire. Moravec's repertoire spanned approximately 24 hours of recorded music, with a particular affinity for the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy, whom he championed throughout his career. After completing his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Moravec moved to New York in 1962, where he continued to captivate audiences with his technical brilliance and expressive phrasing.
