About Sebastian Knauer

Sebastian Knauer, born into a distinguished Hamburg business family, is a renowned German classical pianist whose career has spanned over two and a half decades. Recognized as a prodigy at the age of five, Knauer made his concert debut at 14 and has since performed in over 50 countries across four continents. His repertoire, while rooted in classical-era music, extends to various recording projects, including a notable album of film music titled "Hollywood." This album, recorded with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and conducted by David Newman, pays homage to the legendary film composer Alfred Newman and features works by iconic American composers. Knauer's performances are celebrated for their meticulously crafted, tension-filled, and thematically rich programs. Beyond his musical prowess, Knauer is also a journalist and author, known for his charitable endeavors and engagement with contemporary global issues.
