About Friedrich Gulda

Friedrich Gulda, born in Vienna in 1930, was a pioneering Austrian pianist and composer who fearlessly traversed the realms of classical and jazz music. Beginning his piano lessons at the tender age of seven, Gulda quickly established himself as a commanding interpreter of Mozart and Beethoven in the 1950s and 1960s. His career was marked by a spirit of adventure and a willingness to challenge conventions, earning him the title of "the ultimate maverick pianist." Gulda's discography is a testament to his interpretative evolution, showcasing his versatility and innovative approach to music.
