    Born Jerreley Zanian John Slijger, Kempi is a Dutch rapper of Curaçaoan descent who has carved out a unique space in the hip-hop scene with his raw, authentic storytelling. Hailing from the deprived neighborhood of Woensel-West in Eindhoven, Kempi's upbringing was marked by struggle and adversity, which he channels into his powerful lyrics. His journey began in 2006 with the mixtape "Tsss Kempi," which caught the attention of Amsterdam's Top Notch label, leading to a contract that launched his career. Kempi's music is heavily influenced by legends like 2Pac and Lil Wayne, and he has released two studio albums, four EPs, and seven mixtapes to date. In 2008, he was honored as the "Best Hip-Hop Artist" in the Netherlands at the State Awards, a testament to his impact on the genre.
