Deer Wan

Kenny Wheeler, born in Toronto in 1930, was a Canadian composer and trumpeter who made a significant impact on the jazz scene, particularly in the UK, where he resided from the 1950s until his passing in 2014. Known for his versatility and adventurous spirit, Wheeler's music spanned various genres, including free jazz, big band, and even rock. His compositions, over a hundred in total, showcased his sophisticated and melodic style, often blending post-bop influences with avant-garde elements. Wheeler collaborated with numerous jazz greats, such as Keith Jarrett, Dave Holland, and Evan Parker, and his work as a bandleader and sideman resulted in a prolific discography.
