About Pierre Barbizet

Pierre Barbizet, born in Arica, Chile, in 1922, was a distinguished pianist whose career spanned the 20th century. Barbizet's musical journey began with studies at the prestigious Marseille Conservatory, where he later returned to serve as its director. His educational pursuits also took him to the Paris Conservatoire, where he honed his skills, ultimately winning the Grand Prix at the Scheveningen International Competition. Barbizet's repertoire was rich in chamber music, showcasing his versatility and depth as a performer. His recordings, available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, offer a glimpse into his artistic prowess, featuring works such as Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 27, No. 2. Barbizet's legacy endures, captivating audiences with his refined technique and expressive playing.
