About Kenny Barron
Kenny Barron, a six-time winner of the Jazz Journalists Association's Best Pianist award, is a globally celebrated jazz pianist known for his virtuosity and mastery of the cool jazz and hard bop genres. Born in Philadelphia in 1943, Barron began his musical journey at the age of 12 and quickly rose to play with legends like Philly Joe Jones, Dizzy Gillespie, and James Moody. With a career spanning over six decades, Barron has appeared on hundreds of recordings as both a leader and sideman, cementing his status as one of the most influential mainstream jazz pianists since the bebop era.
