Anne Akiko Meyers presents her latest album, "Beloved," a luminous collection of choral and orchestral works released on May 9, 2025, under the Platoon label. This 41-minute journey through classical and Japanese classical genres features world premiere recordings, including Billy Childs's "In the Arms of the Beloved," alongside arrangements by Ola Gjeilo and Eric Whitacre.
Collaborating with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Grant Gershon, Meyers delivers a stunning performance that transforms tragedy into something redemptive. The album includes three tracks: "In the Arms of the Beloved," "Seal Lullaby" (arranged for violin and chorus by Jonathan Newman), and "Serenity (O Magnum Mysterium)" (arranged for violin and chorus by Gjeilo).
"Beloved" is Meyers's 41st album and showcases her mission to bring new music to the world. With her virtuosic violin playing and the enchanting harmonies of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, this album is a testament to Meyers's artistry and her ability to captivate audiences with her unique interpretations of both classical and contemporary works.
