Hailing from Finland, Aki Rissanen is a pianist and composer whose formidable talent has earned him widespread acclaim in the jazz world. Beginning his musical journey in classical music, Rissanen transitioned to jazz, quickly making a name for himself with his unique and creative approach. His trio, featuring bassist Antti Lotjonen and drummer Teppo Makynen, is a standout ensemble in Finnish jazz, known for their dynamic performances and innovative sound. Rissanen has released seven albums as a leader, including three highly regarded trio albums for Edition Records. His music, from the debut "Amorandom" to the latest "Art In Motion," showcases his exceptional skill and artistic vision, making him one of the most praised and highly regarded jazz musicians to emerge from Finland.
