Gianvincenzo Cresta's "Amore contraffatto" is a captivating exploration of the requiem genre, released in 2013 under the Digressione Music label. This 50-minute album is a profound journey through the works of Carlo Gesualdo, a Renaissance composer known for his unique and often dissonant style. The album features two distinct sections: "Devequt II" and "Sei Tenebrae Responsoria del Sabbato Sancto," each offering a unique interpretation of Gesualdo's compositions.

"Devequt II" consists of four tracks that delve into the themes of love and longing, showcasing Cresta's ability to blend traditional and contemporary elements. The second section, "Sei Tenebrae Responsoria del Sabbato Sancto," includes six tracks that reflect on the somber and reflective nature of the Tenebrae Responsories, traditionally sung during Holy Saturday.

The album features the Ensemble Solistes XXI, with notable performances by Christophe Desjardins and Rachid Safir, adding depth and richness to the compositions. Cresta's work on "Amore contraffatto" was commissioned by Radio France for the Présence Festival 2013, highlighting his growing reputation in the classical music world.
